As of 5:15 AM, my beloved Kegerator is now officially OUT FOR DELIVERY.  I can almost taste the ice cold root beer now.  More updates as this story continues to develop…

The Office?

Did anyone watch The Office last night? I have noticed a decline in the quality of the show for awhile now, but after last nights episode it appears it has officially jumped the shark. A show that was once a clever satire on office life has now devolved into some kind of bizzaro relationship-centric show who’s (or whose, i never know) characters are no longer believable. It was fun to see how much these characters exhibited the same traits (albeit in concentrated forms) as the people we work with every day. Michael, Jan, Dwight, Angela, etc. have now become caricatures of caricatures. What was once a cleverly funny show that played on the idiosyncrasies of desk jockeys, is no more different than a live action Family Guy episode.

Farewell, my friend.  I hardly knew ye…

Kegs, Keggers, and Kegerators

Christmas has come early boys and girls! I can’t think of a better way to kick off my Root Beer page than with the news that I will be the proud owner of the Avanti MBD5L. Thats right…in frat-boy speak, I purchased a Kegerator.

What are you going to do with a beer dispenser, you ask? What CAN’T you do with a beer dispenser is the better question! Why every home does not have the ability to dispense temperature controlled, fresh beverages on tap is a mystery to me. But certainly my swinging bachelor pad would not be so swinging (despite the modeling agency on the main floor) without the ability to dispense ice cold adult beverages, ie. Root Beer.

We are about to enter the Golden Age of my Root Beer brewing/drinking. With that in mind, I need a good name for my home brewed root beer. All suggestions welcome! My current favorite is deBier but keep the names coming.

Opening Day!

I think it is only fitting that my first blog post coincides with one of my favorite days of the year: Opening Day. It is more than just the first day of the baseball season. It marks the full onslaught of spring and march towards summer, it reminds us that we all start equal, and it brings the universal hope that THIS will be the year.
